Dear Parents, Students, and Community,

It is with great pride that I welcome you to another fantastic year at Selma Street Elementary, Home of the Wildcats!!! The entire staff and I will continue a commitment of building strong relationships with our stakeholders, setting high expectations for our students, and maintaining consistency in our efforts. At Selma Street, we remain excited about educating children and will seek to ensure that a safe, caring environment is maintained where rich learning opportunities abound within our school.

Parents are valued partners at Selma Street Elementary. Your commitment to partnership and participation will be vital in order for our students to reach their maximum potential. We encourage you to visit the school often, consult with the staff, and participate in activities at our school. This includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Becoming activity involved in our school’s Parent Teacher Organization, 2. Attending parent conferences and meetings, 3. Volunteering and participating in school events, 4. Helping with homework and reading with your child, and 5. Routinely stressing the importance and value of education within the home. 

Our Parent/Student Handbook will serve as a great resource for you this school term. I encourage you to take the time to read each section of the handbook with your child and refer to it as needed throughout the year. Please do not hesitate to contact us regarding any questions or concerns that arise upon review of this handbook.

Remember, “Together Everyone Accomplishes More!” On this year, let’s continue to work together as a TEAM. Through successful partnerships with our parents, community, and staff, we will ensure that all of our students make progress and are successful citizens.
